I’m reading this now. I bought it a year ago, but got busy and didn’t manage to finish it. I don’t remember a single thing from what I read last year, so this is kind of like a new book to me. I scanned the cover because I love how it’s so clean and simple.
Hmm. Maybe I should go scan more interesting book covers in my house.
1980 Olympic Coke Can (by thehouyhnhnm)
Description
“This Coca-Cola can, as I understand it, shouldn’t exist. This can, which was to be sold in the USSR, commemorates the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, and Coca-Cola was to be the official soft drink of this Olympics; Олимпиада-80 in fact means “Olympics ‘80”. U.S. President Jimmy Carter ordered a boycott of this Olympics in protest against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in December 1979. Mr. Carter also spoke personally with Coca-Cola’s CEO in Atlanta to persuade him not to allow Coca-Cola to be sold in the USSR during the Olympics.”
Nice Tumblr exploring the Typography of New York.
